I made Tahitian Lime Pie as my main Christmas dessert, but I was left with 1/2 a tin of condensed milk. I hate wasting food - so I got on to google to see how I could use it. Something simple with ingredients I had at hand since I had no time to go to the shop and pick up fresh ingredients. That is when I chanced upon this 3 ingredient chocolate fudge with chopped walnuts. Viola! That was the best and easiest recipe so I used up my left over condensed milk and some dark chocolate that was in the fridge for over a month.
Ingredients:
1/2 tin sweetened condensed milk
1/8 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 1/2 cups good quality dark chocolate, chopped
Method:
Grease and line a 7 x7 inch cake tin.
In a thick bottomed saucepan, add all ingredients and melt it in very low heat.
You could use a water bath or a microwave if you prefer to melt the chocolate.
I did it on the stove top and it took approximately 20 minutes to get a glossy, thick, nutty fluid.
Pour it into the greased tin.
Mark into squares while still warm.
Put in the fridge over night and the next day cut out your squares. It is great either as an indulgent treat or as a gift.
